Zocci were the species to which Bannakaffalatta belonged.
Biology
Zocci were small humanoids. They were red with spiked heads. (TV: Voyage of the Damned)
The Zocci looked similar to the Vinvocci. However, the Vinvocci pointed out that they and the Zocci were different, sounding quite annoyed when the Tenth Doctor compared them to Bannakaffalatta. (TV: The End of Time)
Behind the scenes
- The name of Bannakaffalatta's species was never specified in Voyage of the Damned but was identified by Russell T Davies. The name was confirmed on-screen in The End of Time, by a member of a similar-looking species.
- Russell T Davies suggests the Zocci and Vinvocci might be related species. (CON: Lords and Masters)
