Undoing Your Revision of River Song edit

I have just undone your revision stating that River Song killed the Doctor at Lake Silencio. Although as things look right now, you are probably correct, until we actually see her do the dirty deed this Saturday, this ranks as speculative and jumping the gun. A simple undo is probably the most provocative way to edit on this wiki, and I apologize for any seeming indifference to your feelings or your attempt to help make this wiki better, but it will have to wait a few days. If you wish to discuss this, please feel free to do so.Boblipton 01:55, September 28, 2011 (UTC)

Very temporary blocking[[edit source]]

Sorry about this, but I need to stop you from editing for the next 30 minutes or so. You're breaking categories on every page you touch. I need to investigate why you're doing this, and can't have you continue to do it. Please bear with me while I try to figure out how the heck you're doing this.

I have now investigated all 18 of your edits. And I've reverted them all. I'm not sure if you quite realise it, but all your edits reduced the level of information that the articles possessed. You drastically reduced the number of working categories on each page, often linking to categories which did not exist.
It appears like vandalism, but I'm going to believe, for now, that you didn't quite know what you were doing. So when your block expires in a few minutes, please do not remove categories from any page. I think you need to spend some time examining our category structure before you start fiddling with categories. Please start at category:floor 500 and just look around our category structure for a bit.
If you continue the behavior you have exhibited so far, I will have to interpret your activites as deliberately destructive to the wiki and reblock you. I really don't want to do that. If you have any questions about any of this, please get in touch with me.

Heya :) I see you're continuing to add categories that do not exist. Please don't do this. Please utilise the autosuggest feature. When you start adding a category by typing
[[category:
you'll get some suggestions as soon as you type the first letter after the colon (:). Click on the appropriate category as it comes up, and the system will fill in the rest for you, and thereby you'll be sure of getting the right spelling for the category name.
Note that spelling is very important with categories. First Doctor enemies (a category which does exist) is a different category from First Doctor Enemies (a category which does not).
Please only add categories that automatically show up, and consider adding MediaWiki:FixMe.css to your personal CSS (there are instructions at that page) so that you can actually see when you've added a bad category name. If you add FixMe.css to your persona CSS, un-created categories will show up in red, while created categories will be blue.

Christmas cheer[[edit source]]

Happy holidays!

As this fiftieth anniversary year comes to a close, we here at Tardis just want to thank you for being a part of our community — even if you haven't edited here in a while. If you have edited with us this year, then thanks for all your hard work.

This year has seen an impressive amount of growth. We've added about 11,000 pages this year, which is frankly incredible for a wiki this big. November was predictably one of the busiest months we've ever had: over 500 unique editors pitched in. It was the highest number of editors in wiki history for a year in which only one programme in the DWU was active. And our viewing stats have been through the roof. We've averaged well over 2 million page views each week for the last two months, with some weeks seeing over 4 million views!

We've received an unprecedented level of support from Wikia Staff, resulting in all sorts of new goodies and productive new relationships. And we've recently decided to lift almost every block we've ever made so as to allow most everyone a second chance to be part of our community.

2014 promises to build on this year's foundations, especially since we've got a full, unbroken series coming up — something that hasn't happened since 2011. We hope you'll stick with us — or return to the Tardis — so that you can be a part of the fun!
