Images[[edit source]]

One of the first things I usually do is check the Special:UncategorizedFiles page which is generally where a majority of images that new users upload end up (as regular editors tag images correctly). Thanks. --Tangerineduel 14:28, August 24, 2010 (UTC)

The War of Art[[edit source]]

I deleted the section, as it is not in the Manual of style for the Prose layout. You best bet is to drag it up form the pages history and add what was there to the discontinuity page for it the the discontinuity section in the Howling, or add it to the talk page. It just keep all pages consistent and it look better if they are than having different section, (and in this case section in some pages and not in others). Mini-mitch 21:04, August 24, 2010 (UTC)

A section for it in the discontinuity section would be good, but it will take time as pages will need to be made for every book. It could be the case that it goes into the discontinuity section, and we make the pages for the books as we need them? Mini-mitch 16:51, August 25, 2010 (UTC)

IP editors[[edit source]]

Not really, a Wiki is built on all its editors, I can (and will) go through the Adventure Games articles and create-protect all articles that are red-linked which will prevent IP editors.

If you find any recently created articles that have been IP created that you believe are too badly written to make useful mark them for delete, they'll likely be deleted and then created at some later date by editors more fluent with the wiki and its use. --Tangerineduel 14:46, August 27, 2010 (UTC)

Torchwood wikia[[edit source]]

I've left a message for Trikster87 on their talk page over at the Torchwood Wikia with information about how to export/import. Some of the pages like Gwen Cooper have been blanked (though the page history remains). So we shall wait and see if they comply or not, if not we'll need to request the pages be removed by the wikia staff. --Tangerineduel 14:02, September 8, 2010 (UTC)

Hi, I'd like to thank you for going through and citing all the pages on the Torchwood Wiki that needed citing. We've both been unblocked from that Wiki so that's something. Again we'll have to wait and see. I hope the Trikster87 will the do the correct thing, though I'm not confident. Thanks. --Tangerineduel 13:22, September 14, 2010 (UTC)

Infobox[[edit source]]

Please Check With a Reliable Source Before Putting Down Assumptions[[edit source]]

In one of your recent edits, you restored a production error in the episode Vincent and the Doctor regarding the usage of the term "solar system". However, the claim that there is only one solar system is largely unsupported by most academic sources. The term "solar system", though derived from Sol, does not necessarily imply the stellar system with the Sun. In World Book at NASA, the term is used to describe any stellar system (http://www.nasa.gov/worldbook/solarsystem_worldbook_update.html). This practice is largely adopted by many academic researchers, e.g. Artymowicz's article "Beta Pictoris and Other Solar Systems" in the Space Science Reviews, Boss' "Looking for earths : the race to find new solar systems", Taber's "Life in other solar systems", Wilbur K. Brown's "Possible mass distributions in the nebulae of other solar systems" from Earth, Moon, and Planets Volume 37, Number 3. I am quite perplexed as to why you would make such an assumption only based on the etymology of the term. I am certain that some people may choose to use the term to describe exclusively the Solar System, but to claim that using the term "solar system" in way consistent with academic and technical usage as an production error based on your personal belief is largely unjustified, please avoid similar edits. --222.166.181.131 19:23, September 8, 2010 (UTC)

Please do not make edits on subjects in which you don't understand. The term "solar system" has always been used in the sense of describing any stellar system. The terms "planetary system" and "stellar system" used in this sense are quite recent inventions to avoid the ambiguity posed by the word "solar". It would be most inaccurate to say that "solar system" is a colloquial way of referring to a stellar system. Your respond on the talk page of Vincent and the Doctor suggests that you checked with Wikipedia because you are not knowledgeable in the subject. After a brief glimpse, I find the article you refered to as "solar system" is an entry on "the Solar System"; the source in the footnote for the definition of "solar system" on that specific wikipedia article is Merriam-Webster's 11th Collegiate Dictionary, which if you click on it, will direct you to a page that says:

solar system
noun
Definition of SOLAR SYSTEM
: the sun together with the group of celestial bodies that are held by its attraction and revolve around it; also : a similar system centered on another star

The article makes itself quite clear that it's referring to the Solar System. I am quite confused as to why you would edit something when you acknowledge that you really know what it is. When you make any edit, please make sure you have a clear understanding of the subject concerned and the edit would not be based on anecdotal knowledge or assumptions. Thank you.--203.168.176.42 23:08, September 8, 2010 (UTC)

information before "unstubbing"[[edit source]]

Hi Thirteenth Doctor you seem reliable so im going to ask how much information is needed before the stub is gone. Please tell me and do NOT chastise me for asking a stupid question. DalekVictor554 07:58, September 9, 2010 (UTC)

howd u find that out

=)[[edit source]]

You've been busy haven't you?

Reply[[edit source]]

Sorry then, I did it by accident, I thought I was on your talk page, dont know what went wrong. Come on, do your really want articles to look dull? Images add colour to the article and capture peoples attention.

User pages and redlinks[[edit source]]

I've made an edit to the user's user page by adding <nowiki></nowiki> tags around all of the templates it preserves the page's layout for the most part while preventing the templates from becoming templates.

If you find any others like this you can do as I've done, but given the level of change to the user's user page leave a note indicating what you've done and why you've done it. Thanks. --Tangerineduel 18:16, September 13, 2010 (UTC)

Questions and Comments[[edit source]]

Honestly some of the people on here, everything has to be done to an exact way, you lot are like Terminators or Cybermen or Daleks.

If editing someones user page is considered vandalism how comes you can edit their page in the first place?

Completely devoid of emotion or desire. Ive added the pictures again but THIS TIME ive added better detail and I think now they add stuff to the article. Is this OK?

Well. Seems OK I suppost, I did'nt mean to offend anyone, but sometimes it does seem like this wiki is run by people who dont even like Doctor Who, you and other users seem to be, not saying this is true but, you all seem to be like machines, who need Doctor Who as fuel, and your mission is to create a detailed encyclopedia of it and making it as boring and uninteresting as possibly, as well as picking on users you dont like. But you're probably not like that at all so I wont say it again.

Infobox[[edit source]]

Sorry but how do you actully make a infobox EXIST by that I mean fill it with stuff like I am the thirteenth doctor?Ghastly9090 16:10, September 14, 2010 (UTC)

Hi u r not the 13th doctor i am the rill doctor and i am 927 yrs oldCoxrb001 16:14, September 14, 2010 (UTC)

Sorry, but[[edit source]]

It WAS confirmed in A Writers Tale that the monster in the bar scene in the background was intended to be a Silurian.

Even you cant just go around deleting stuff because it does'nt fit YOUR ideas. Its an established fact now because of Russel T Davies, so why did you delete it?

But-[[edit source]]

You're just saying that because its your opinion. This site is in no way organised, all the decisions on this site are made up by the opinions of the administrators.

If it was intended to be a Silurian, then it could very well be a silurian. If it was "intended" to be Silurian, there is no certainty of it not being one. I dont understand what you are talking about.

Other things[[edit source]]

Retrovaulndar made an edit to the page of the silurians, but he did'nt delete what I wrote, just edited it, which proves that your just acting on your own beliefs and opinions.

Plus why cant it be a silurian? Why cant you be a bit mroe imaginative, do you have no sense of adventure or speculation, your acting all formal and organised and sort of miserable towards something as great as Doctor Who. I question if you even like Doctor Who.

Ive looked at the script for the episode and there is no mention of a silurian in the Bar just "extras" Revanvolatrelundar 18:07, September 14, 2010 (UTC)

OK

1. Just because it was intended to be one, does'nt mean it is'nt, if it was intended to be one that means it probably is and is open to speculation. It could very well have been one.

2. You cant expect the scripts to have all the details, like all the details in The Writers Tale werent mentioned in the scripts, theres stuff behind the scripts, ideas and stuff that werent revealed.

3. This website and its admins including you take everything too seriously. I mean come on:

This article needs a serious cleanup, it may exhibit bad grammar, rampant speculation or other editorial issues which may so extreme as to cause factual inaccuracy.

WHAT???

How is one little grammer error EXTREME?

OMG FACTUAL INNACCURACY im so scared were all gonna die!!!!!

4. Why on Earth do you bother adding in every detail of when you wrote the message, who you are ect, like anyone will read it.

You;re just too hardworking, you must spend hours in this wiki, you should chill out, go have pizza or something. Not devote your body, spirit and soul to this website,

The Writers Tale had the scripts included in them, thats why i looked that the scripts. Revanvolatrelundar 18:18, September 14, 2010 (UTC)

I agree[[edit source]]

To say so would be very wrong. Its worse than murder!!!!

Why?[[edit source]]

Why would anyone in their right mind want to sit down for six hours reading boring rubbish that you cant even understand cos its too complicated and not particularly interesting.

Manual of Style[[edit source]]

Ive read your beloved Manual of Style. Ive mostly understood it, but what if I make one mistake? Like linking something to a page that does'nt exist by accident? Will I get in trouble?

Your input is needed!

Christmas cheer[[edit source]]

Happy holidays!

As this fiftieth anniversary year comes to a close, we here at Tardis just want to thank you for being a part of our community — even if you haven't edited here in a while. If you have edited with us this year, then thanks for all your hard work.

This year has seen an impressive amount of growth. We've added about 11,000 pages this year, which is frankly incredible for a wiki this big. November was predictably one of the busiest months we've ever had: over 500 unique editors pitched in. It was the highest number of editors in wiki history for a year in which only one programme in the DWU was active. And our viewing stats have been through the roof. We've averaged well over 2 million page views each week for the last two months, with some weeks seeing over 4 million views!

We've received an unprecedented level of support from Wikia Staff, resulting in all sorts of new goodies and productive new relationships. And we've recently decided to lift almost every block we've ever made so as to allow most everyone a second chance to be part of our community.

2014 promises to build on this year's foundations, especially since we've got a full, unbroken series coming up — something that hasn't happened since 2011. We hope you'll stick with us — or return to the Tardis — so that you can be a part of the fun!
