The Ostrich was a large, flightless bird native to Earth.
It became extinct in 2051. (REF Doctor Who: Monsters and Villains). All that remained was an ostrich egg in the possession of Lady Cassandra. Myths had also spread that it had a 50-foot wingspan and could shoot fire out of its nostrils. (DW: The End of the World)
