McCrae was a U.N.I.T. solider in the late 20th century. His best friend was Slater. They were sexist, often discussing the attractiveness of women in their vicinity. They barely survived an attack by a group of daemons from a parallel world. Afterwards, they seemed more respectful and quiet. (PROSE: Heart of TARDIS)
