- Somebody stated that the CyberShades existed before the Cybermen arrived through the Void into 1851 London. There's absolutely nothing to support this claim. Where would the Cybermen finds the brains of dogs or cats in a hellish extra-dimensional Void? It's far more likely that, being limited in number, the Cybermen chose to use comparatively-primitive materials to convert simple, easy to capture, abundant life-forms into expendable "guard-dogs." That would explain their appearance, behaviour, and the era-specific materials used to construct them.
