Retrogressive arc inversion was a mechanism that with the combination of a bio-electric dampening field could reverse the flow of electricity.

The DoctorDonna enabled this mechanism from the Crucible's control console in order to prevent Davros from hurting her with electricity. (TV: Journey's End)
