Layla Field was a business tycoon for InterMedia. She was an artificial intelligence known as a synthespian.
Ms Field claimed to have been one of the first synthespians, in the 22nd century, but she had actually been active since the 20th century, as a character in an adult video game. Bernice Summerfield discovered Ms Field's past while trying to renegotiate her contract with InterMedia. (PROSE: Digging up the Past)
