X-tonic ray

X-tonic rays were a form of radiation hostile to all known forms of life that emanated from X-tonic stars. Professor Hobbes averred that such rays could also be thought of as "raw Galvanic Radiation".

It would reduce humans to dust within a second. Shielding from the radiation was possible though, even in glass surfaces. For example, Finitoglass could stand the radiation for several minutes, and the Leisure Palace had large domes fifteen feet thick for more effective shielding.

The sun that Midnight orbited produced huge amounts of X-tonic light, and no life was thought possible in the entire system. This was, however, proven wrong, as the Midnight entity was able to live on the surface of the planet. (TV: Midnight)
