User talk:TimeDude
Thanks for your recent edits! I'm Jimbo, your robot wiki representative! We hope you'll keep on editing with us. This is actually a great time to have joined, because we're now fully independent, and working on a host of new features!
We've got a couple of important quirks for a fan written wiki, so let's get them out of the way first.
British English, please
We generally use British English 'round these parts, so if you use another form of English, please be sure you set your spell checker to BrEng, and take a gander at our spelling cheat card.
Spoilers aren't cool
We have a strict definition of "spoiler" that you may find a bit unusual. Basically, a spoiler, to us, is anything that comes from a story which has not been released yet. So, even if you've got some info from a BBC press release or official trailer, it basically can't be referenced here. In other words, you gotta wait until the episode has finished its premiere broadcast to start editing about its contents. Please check the spoiler policy for more details.
Other useful stuff
Aside from those two things, we also have some pages that you should probably read when you get a chance, like:
- the listing of all our help, policy and guideline pages
- our Manual of Style
- our image use policy
- our user page policy
If you're brand new to wiki editing — and we all were, once! — you probably want to check out these tutorials at Wikipedia, the world's largest wiki:
Remember that you should always sign your comments on talk and vote pages using four tildes like this:Thanks for becoming a member of the TARDIS crew! If you have any questions, see the Help pages, add a question to one of the Forums or ask an admin.
Spoilers
Please note, information about any form of media which has not been released or aired is considered a spoiler. This includes names of the Big Finish Audios. Any spoiler information should only go on the appropriate spoiler page, in this case on The Companion Chronicles article. Thank-you. The Thirteenth Doctor 18:07, August 5, 2010 (UTC)

Audiobooks of novelisations
Thanks for adding pics to the 2011 section of the above article. However, a couple of tips for the future. First, please make sure that picture names have human-readable names that make some sort of sense. Random alpha-numeric strings like the ones you used make future use much more difficult, because the name simply isn't searchable. Second, please make sure that your edits don't strip articles of useful formatting. It was a step forward for the article to get pics in the 2011 section. But it was a step backward for the article to lose all its wiki-linking, as it did by virtue of your edit. Not quite sure why you would have done that, actually. Your edit, instead of just being helpful, created work for me to clean up.

Nyssa
I was just wondering about your time placing for Nyssa in the audio stories. I haven't got to listening to Cobwebs and later monthly plays yet but from Winter I gathered that it was the last time that Nyssa met the fifth Doctor in her timeline. Does Cobwebs actually reference the events of Winter or is the placing of her second run of adventures with the Doctor just an educated guess? --Revan\Talk 12:23, April 22, 2011 (UTC)
I'm just mentioning this because the articles for both Cobwebs and Winter give no clear indication of their placement in relation to each other outside the timeline section. An example of what I mean is if in Cobwebs Nyssa said "I helped you regenerate" or something similar it just needs adding to the continuity section to help with the placement of the stories. --Revan\Talk 12:26, April 22, 2011 (UTC)

Italics
Please remember to put story titles in italics like so ''{{story name}}''
It is likely the case that you are well versed in this practice and that I just happened across a few instances where you had forgotten, in which case this is just a reminder. Thanks--Skittles the hog - talk 11:46, October 29, 2012 (UTC)
FIrst TARDIS
Why the move? It was never actually called just "The Doctor's TARDIS" in "Prisoners of Fate". It was either referred to as his "first TARDIS", "Type 50" or "Chronoscope" (by Sibor). JagoAndLitefoot ☎ 15:25, June 12, 2013 (UTC)
Sorry I didn't move it
Images
Hey, thanks for trying to add to our library of cover images! Unfortunately your run of the current series of Graceless had to be deleted because they were, each of them, over the 100kb max file size. If you'd like to resubmit after reducing their file size to something below 100kb, please feel free. This restriction, not often imposed by wikis, is of great benefit to our mobile users and those with slower bandwidths. Following is a summary of the most important image rules, but please be sure to stop by T:GTI and T:ICC as soon as possible to make sure that your future contributions aren't summarily deleted. Thanks :)

- photos and screenshots must be jpgs or pngs — not any other format
- images should be no narrower than 420px
- infobox images must clearly illustrate their subjects at 420px widths
- files must be appropriately licensed
Christmas cheer
As this fiftieth anniversary year comes to a close, we here at Tardis just want to thank you for being a part of our community — even if you haven't edited here in a while. If you have edited with us this year, then thanks for all your hard work.
This year has seen an impressive amount of growth. We've added about 11,000 pages this year, which is frankly incredible for a wiki this big. November was predictably one of the busiest months we've ever had: over 500 unique editors pitched in. It was the highest number of editors in wiki history for a year in which only one programme in the DWU was active. And our viewing stats have been through the roof. We've averaged well over 2 million page views each week for the last two months, with some weeks seeing over 4 million views!
We've received an unprecedented level of support from Wikia Staff, resulting in all sorts of new goodies and productive new relationships. And we've recently decided to lift almost every block we've ever made so as to allow most everyone a second chance to be part of our community.
2014 promises to build on this year's foundations, especially since we've got a full, unbroken series coming up — something that hasn't happened since 2011. We hope you'll stick with us — or return to the Tardis — so that you can be a part of the fun!
Question
Hi! I came across your edit at Talk:Flarr. I just wanted to verify with you that the article should be renamed "Vlaar" before I change it. Thanks! Shambala108 ☎ 02:27, April 12, 2014 (UTC)
Hi Looking at the script for Starlight Robbery Flarr is spelt Vlaar. TimeDude
- I changed the page name and the pages that link to it. Thanks for pointing it out. In the future, you can put a {{rename}} tag on any page that needs to be changed. Thanks! Shambala108 ☎ 18:57, April 12, 2014 (UTC)
