Spider germs were eukaryotic creatures that appeared on the surface of the Moon, which was in reality the eggshell for a gigantic draconian creature. While close to the size of "a badger", they were indeed unicellular creatures. Their main food supply came from feeding off a creature that was growing inside the moon. They resembled spider-like creatures, and apparently could only sense sudden movements.(TV: Kill the Moon).
