- The story takes place between TV: Deep Breath and TV: Into the Dalek, as the Doctor is trying to get the coffee that he promised to Clara.
- The Doctor claims the Intergalactic Coffee Roasting Station only has the third best coffee in the universe, after the one brewed by Elisabeth Pepys and the one Sergeant Benton made.
