Energy weapon

Energy weapon can refer to large energy weapons such as ground based weapons such as the Jathaa sunglider weapon deployed by the Torchwood Institute in 2007 during the Sycorax's appearance over London on Christmas day. (DW: The Christmas Invasion) Or ship mounted weapons such as those utilised by the Daleks during their 22nd century Dalek invasion of Earth and Dalek invasion of Earth whilst Earth was in the Medusa Cascade. (DW: The Stolen Earth) The human constructed airship carrier the Valiant also carried energy weapons. (DW: The Poison Sky)

Energy weapons can also refer to smaller handheld weapons that fire energy rather than a projectile of some sort. Jack Harkness carried a compact deluxe laser pistol which was able to defeat the androids Trin-e and Zu-Zana when they tried to kill him. (DW: Bad Wolf) The Judoon also carried hand held weapons. At the End of the Universe whilst being threatened by the Master Chantho used an energy weapon against him, seemingly one shot triggered a regeneration. (DW: Utopia)
