Dr. Khan was the assistant of Professor Kyle.
Dr. Khan was a member of an expedition exploring a recent discovered cavern rich in fossils somewhere on Earth. Khan was killed along with six others by the Cyberman's androids due to their close proximity to the Cyber-bomb's hatch. Khan's coat and a small pick hammer that belonged to Khan were fought by Kyle just after her and Lieutenant Scott's discovered the Doctor and his companions. (TV: Earthshock)
