Inspector George Duncan Stringer was a policeman who was in charge of security at the Crystal Palace in London in the late 19th century. Madame Vastra recalled that he didn't need her assistance in the affair of the Hounslow Dragon, and also refused her "expertising" at the Crystal Palace. When Madame Vastra raised the possibility of Lady Cornelia Basildon-Stone's involvement in a plot to kill Queen Victoria, he immediately asked Vastra and the rest of the Paternoster Gang to leave. That night, Stringer was mutated turned into a human-wasp hybrid by Lady Basildon-Stone's servant Ajeeth. After the genetic splicer that sustained Stringer's mutated form was destroyed, Stringer turned back to human form. (COMIC: The Crystal Throne)
