June was a friend of Netty and a member of the Silver Cloak, a group of pensioners who wanted to help Wilfred Mott to find the Tenth Doctor. Wilfred wanted to convince the Doctor to make Donna remember her time with the Doctor.
June's sister lived opposite Broadfell, and saw the TARDIS, she told June about it and June spoke to Netty about it. (TV: The End of Time)
