The Stormcore was the name given by the CIA to the Dimensional Phase Multiplexer, a part of the navigational system of an alien spacecraft. They first designated it Prism.
The ship the Stormcore was in was shot down by the US military in the 1960s. It was experimented on and was found to be able to affect the weather. The Stormcore unintentionally attracted an extra-dimensional creature to Earth. (PROSE: Drift)
