Artificials, also known as Breeds, were a genetic clone race, vat grown and stored by humans for the purpose of maintaining 374926-slash-GN66 and protecting its cargo. (PROSE: Star-Crossed)
Notes
- The Artificials share numerous similarities with the Gangers. Firstly, they are made from similar material to the Flesh, which uses the DNA of the original crew to form duplicate bodies. The crew treats the Artificials as a lesser species and only see them as slaves. When their work is completed, the Artificials are reduced back to their Flesh-like liquid and new Artificials are made. A similar race of Flesh avatars were met by the Eleventh Doctor, Amy Pond and Rory Williams, which were used as the major workforce performing dangerous labour in an acid mining facility in the 22nd century.
