This page lists appearances of Mortimus in the order in which he experienced them. This timeline is based on observations of the Doctor Who universe and the events in each of these stories. From these observations we have attempted to build a concise timeline. It is assumed, much like their TV story counterparts, that each novel or audio series their published/numbered order is the order they occur in[statement unclear]. Due to the fact that he has no respect for the Laws of Time the Monk does not meet the Doctor in the correct order.
Timeline
The Peter Butterworth Monk
- Divided Loyalties
- The Time Meddler/The Time Meddler
- 4-Dimensional Vistas
- Follow That TARDIS!
- The Daleks' Master Plan/The Mutation of Time
- The Doctor traps the Monk on an unknown ice planet.
The Graeme Garden Monk
- The Monk has escaped the ice planet, and regenerated at least once. His goal is to repair his TARDIS, not revenge against the Doctor.
- The Monk blames the Doctor for Tamsin's death and wants revenge.
The No Future Monk
- Blood Heat (cameo)
- The Dimension Riders (cameo)
- The Left-Handed Hummingbird (cameo)
- Conundrum (cameo)
- No Future
- Mortimus has regenerated. He is seeking revenge the Doctor, claiming that it is for being left on the ice planet. However, he did not want revenge in The Book of Kells, so it must be assumed that he is lying, and his motivation for revenge is Tamsin's death. After losing control of Artemis, he is attacked and regenerates once more.
The Rufus Hound Monk
- The Monk is still after revenge, but does not say why except that it is for something in the Doctor's future.
