Because of the population was slowly dying out a Farrashian leader of Farrash, at the time the Fourth Doctor and Sarah Jane Smith's visit to the planet, supported a group of scientists that aborted the foetuses of volunteers to use the brain matter to animate metal bodies. The leader had to deal with stiff opposition to this project.
At the Farrash Future Ratification meeting, which the Doctor and Sarah attended, a twenty-foot-tall robot, constructed by another group of scientists, went out of control and stampeded through the meeting place. The leader was killed. His body was sent out into space, according to Farrashian tradition. (PROSE: Rights)
