A lieutenant was part of a group of soldiers surrounding the house in which the First Doctor, Susan Foreman, Barbara Wright, Ian Chesterton, Rouvray and D'Argenson were hiding in France in July 1794. He refused a soldier's suggestion that they kill Ian, Barbara and Susan, instead going along with the sergeant's idea that there might be a reward. (TV: The Reign of Terror)
