4949, as recorded in the Matrix, was the year the Daleks and Movellans were engaged in the star system 4-X-Alpha-4 during their centuries long war, (AUDIO: Neverland, TV: Destiny of the Daleks) although another account dated the war to around the 31st century before the Daleks disappeared from human space, (PROSE: Mission to the Unknown) though it is possible the war began in the 31st century and continued until 4949 because of the stalemate.
