Question

The fact that this is billed as being the last story where the Doctor interferes or becomes part of the timeline of a historical character as he main part of the story ... Could this then be the last of the stories that could be described as a "purely historical" story. The preceding unsigned comment was added by TheMasterRace (talk • contribs) .

It is usually considered that The Highlanders is the last true historical.Amorkuz 23:10, November 17, 2015 (UTC)

Error removed

I removed a bit from the intro where it said the next historical to feature a prominent figure was Mark of the Rani. First, Mark of the Rani isn't considered a true historical because it still involved major science fiction elements; in the context of Doctor Who, "historicals" are those stories where the Doctor and the TARDIS are the only SF elements. The Gunfighters is this, as is The Highlanders, and the next story of this nature was Black Orchid. Mark of the Rani featured the Rani and the Master and major SF elements. Even if one wanted to consider Mark an historical, citing it would still be incorrect because by this criteria the earlier story The King's Demons involves the historical figure King John. 68.146.233.86talk to me 17:46, March 12, 2016 (UTC)
