Hanif was a 21st century human.
He was part of a cult that believed that the Osirans were gods. They wanted to acquire an artefact that they thought would let them communicate with their gods. When Anubis came to Earth, they realised that their deities were just powerful aliens. Erik Ulfriksson, feeling betrayed, attacked Anubis. His servants killed Hanif in retaliation.
