The War of Five Hundred Worlds was a conflict between several spacefaring species which occurred before the 11th century. During the early part of the war, skirmishes were fought with Gelem warriors, who were created by kidnapping people on primitive planets. The practice of using Gelem warriors was stopped with the Pact of Chib. (NSA: Ghosts of India)
