When their home planet's star began dying, their scientists began searching for new energy sources. Sorenson led an expedition to Zeta Minor, where he hoped to harness the power of the anti-matter he discovered there. All the other members of his team were killed, along with much of the crew of the ship sent to rescue them, until the Doctor saved them by returning the anti-matter to the planet. Since several Morestrans had human names, it is possible that they are members of a lost Earth colony rather than a separate race.
