A female bone spider fell through a tear in space-time and ended up in Alice Parsons' house. The spider remained invisible but showed herself to save Alice from falling down the stairs. They became unlikely friends. In 2015, the spider gave birth to a baby. Shortly after that, Alice died. Playing, the baby spider crawled into her coffin and, unseen, was taken with the coffin to her crypt. The mother remained in the house desperate to find her child, trying to send it a message.

A young teenage Syrian refugee Amira sensed these messages and hid in the house from her smugglers. Without showing herself, the spider did not let Amira out of the house and hid her from prying eyes, providing her with safety for the first time since she fled Syria.

The spider was protective of Amira and tried to scare off anyone who tried to enter the house. When the Coal Hill defenders started investigating the house at the beckoning of Tanya Adeola who saw Amira trough a window, the spider first scared Tanya and Ram away with loud sounds. When all the defenders came together, the spider knocked April MacLean unconscious without causing serious harm to her and then scared the group into leaving by materialising their fears.

The spider preferred to scare people with sounds and with their materialised dreams or to cocoon them in spiderwebs, as she did with Miss Quill, Charlie and Matteusz Andrzejewski during their next visit. In the commotion, the spider managed to to trap Tanya, whom she liked, in the house. When Miss Quill returned to the house to rescue Tanya, the spider was forced to engage in a physical confrontation with her and knocked her out. Eventually, however, Miss Quill, Alan Turnpike and Amira managed to entangle the spider in her own web. After Tanya freed the spider, she trusted humanoids enough to show them the fate of her child.

The Coal Hill defenders found the baby spider and returned it to the mother. Both spiders remained in the house until such time when it would be possible to return them to their home planet. (PROSE: The Stone House)
