Mercy[[edit source]]

Hmm. Just an open question. It had said that all its data bases showed that all freinds of the Doctor would show mercy.... Is this in error since there are some who would not (Other than River Song) Or is it because of time bing erased?Ominic 21:30, June 26, 2010 (UTC) The Dalek was expecting compassion based on the experiences of earlier Daleks' encounters with previous companions. When River told it her name, it checked again and started acting scared and asking for mercy.

On a similar topic, I don't think it's the first Dalek to say "mercy," actually. Didn't the imprisoned Dalek in the Dalek TV story cry "Mercy!" when the 9th Doctor electrocuted it? Chenrezi 01:28, June 27, 2010 (UTC)

The Dalek from the 'Dalek' TV story cried "have pity" rather than "mercy". It was a play on one of the original Davros' final lines to the Daleks in his first apearance. 82.23.86.207 15:31, June 27, 2010 (UTC)Ghadius

  • and that one was insane due to everything it had gone through.--WarGrowlmon18 16:58, June 27, 2010 (UTC)

Right I knew that but what about others? Ominic 16:39, June 27, 2010 (UTC)

Did River Song kill this Stone Dalek? While we see the River confront and threaten it as it begs for mercy. We have witnessed Daleks being shot by companions before (Mickey) so why not show it this time? We don't even get to hear an explosion or see smoke, the low budget options, so is this part of Rivers' riddle?

1.Sign your posts and 2. Moffat might of done it to let your imagination take over as we don't know what happens when these new Daleks get shot. Alpha111 20:30, July 4, 2010 (UTC)

Dalek Rank/Type[[edit source]]

I believe the lack of authority and deep presence suggests the Stone Dalek was a Drone. Wollstone 05:10, June 27, 2010 (UTC)

Due to its voice, not exactly sounding commanding, it is probably the Drone. Interestingly what happened to the third Dalek, as only two were shown to be turned to stone. Every organic being was turned to dust or a mound of stone, whereas the Daleks, Cyberman (metal)_ and Auton (plastic) were just turned to stone. Llamaman201 (talk) 09:34, June 27, 2010 (UTC)
The restoration light from the Pandorica fell on both of the stone Daleks, so shouldn't there have been two evil killing machines roaming the museum?
No because the second (non active) Dalek was in the shade of the restoration light so did not become active. Alpha111 16:05, June 27, 2010 (UTC)
Others may have been destoryed when people tried to move the Pandorica. Ominic 16:39, June 27, 2010 (UTC)

It's possible this is the Eternal Dalek which would give meaning to it's name Oni Dark Link 18:20, June 27, 2010 (UTC)

I thought that too. When the Pandorica partially regenerated it, I was half expecting the stone to give way to yellow... um... well, let's be honest, the new Daleks are blatantly plastic. Anyway, sadly not... so the Eternal remains an enigma --Sorceror Nobody 15:57, June 28, 2010 (UTC)

Afterimage?[[edit source]]

If the images were hollow shells, wasn't the Stone Dalek really a Dalek that had been partially restored to life/reality from the images? I don't think the current description is accurate, but I'm not sure how to phrase if properly either. BrainySpecs 03:19, June 29, 2010 (UTC)

Fossil[[edit source]]

Was it ever actually described as a "Stone Dalek" in the episode? I seem to remember The Doctor describing it as "a fossil" so maybe Fossil Dalek would be a more appropriate name? Ehsteve23 20:59, July 4, 2010 (UTC)
