The Surgeon was a surgeon called upon by River Song to remove the Halassi Androvar from King Hydroflax. Nardole mistook the Twelfth Doctor for him, so the Doctor pretended to be him. According to River, he was "the best surgeon in the land". (TV: The Husbands of River Song)
