Discontinuity, Plot Holes, Errors

  • With Torchwood gone, who is keeping the rift in check? Gwen's still around - she may build a new team. UNIT seem to know Torchwood, and perhaps the purpose of their location, they could manage the rift. However, nobody's said anyone is watching it.
  • With Day Five being set on a Saturday (if the newspaper Ianto picked up is anything to go by), then why are the children at school? Obviously the government told them to but why would they go?
  • What happened to the various items in the Torchwood Hub, the TARDIS coral, the weevils and Myfawny? Most likely destroyed along with the Hub, however, some objects like the contents of Jack's safe or the People (ie: Grey) in cryostasis may have been shielded from the bomb.   As for the coral it is part of the TARDIS which can survive 'almost anything'  it may be found later or Jack simply gave up trying to grow his own TARDIS.  After the explosion the weevils may have escaped and Myfawny may have been outside the Hub at the time of the explosion as we have seen it leave on its own accord before.
  • Why does Jack's vortex manipulator work? And how does Jack know when a vessel is passing through the Solar System? In regards to the Solar System vessel, he may be able to identify it due to his futuristic background. (As for the Vortex Manipulator, so far as we know Jack simply used it to send a signal. The ship transported him up through its own mechanism.
