Larry Haxton Jr. was a two bit movie producer/director who worked on the film The Blob from Beyond which, as well as featuring Betty, featured a green, blob-creature. He expected it to be the biggest movie of the decade. The convincing "creature" featured in the movie was not a special effect but an actual alien, a Thrunn. Two Thrunn had crashed in the desert and Haxton held one captive aboard the ship and forced the other to star in his film. Filming was halted when the star escaped, returned to its travelling partner and left in the spaceship. Haxton had tried to stop them but was scared away by a third creature (a movie projection created by the Tenth Doctor). (COMIC: Creature Feature)
