In the ribos operation, the white guardian says the key to time is required to restore balance as every so often the universe becomes unbalanced. However, I'm sure balanced wasn't restored. In the Armageddon factor, the doctor scattered the key to time before either the white or black guardians could get it. So the white guardian never had the chance to stop the universe and restore balance. Is this why there is so much evil still in the universe? DO you think there are any consequences because of this? --Coop3 18:10, January 25, 2014 (UTC)

I think the entire following season with an emphasis on entropy, culminating in "Logopolis" did an effective job in exploring the consequences of what happens when you neglect to properly reboot the universe.

Either that, or it was all a hoax & the 4th Doctor never saw the White Guardian. 72.177.169.170talk to me 03:53, January 26, 2014 (UTC)

From The Key to Time season itself, I don't think restoring the balance would have reduced the evil -- I don't think it was meant to -- but you have a point about the instability evident thereafter. --89.243.204.160talk to me 16:04, January 26, 2014 (UTC)
