I just thought about something regarding the doctors family.

1-When he left gallifrey, what happened to them and did he even think about how it would affect them? 2-Why out of all his family was Susan the only person he took with him. 3-When the doctor returned to gallifrey in later stories, especially when he became president TWICE, why did we not see his family then either? 4-How does the doctor having relationships with other women (i.e. river song as his wife, queen liz the first as wife, rose as his unrequited lover, all his female companions he has kissed and romana-a fellow time lord), fit in with the fact he had a wife and had at least one child and at least one grandchild(susan) to her. Did he never think how this would affect her?--Coop3 22:51, July 3, 2013 (UTC) We obviously don't know why he left them, but he obviously did. And they obviously died in the Time War. Maybe the Doctor's family died before he "borrowed" the TARDIS and flew away. He only brought along Susan because there was only Susan left to bring along. Imamadmad (Contact me) 08:39, July 4, 2013 (UTC)

That seems unlikely for all of them especially since the doctors mother appeared in the end of time as the old woman. Now I know it wasn't confirmed in the final cut but Russell t davies created this character as his mother so he must have at least thought that one would survive. It just seems weird thinking about the doctor being a father and a grandfather as well as a young man with several wives and parents. I wonder what age they are since the doctor is over 1,000. --Coop3 21:59, July 4, 2013 (UTC)

We don't really know how Gallifreyans would think of things like marriage and such; for all we know, their culture could perceive polygamy as the proper form of partnership. Actually, now that I think about it, that would kinda make sense considering that a lot of them are time travelers with spouses that, due to the nature of time travel, can be dead one day and fifteen years old on the next. In "The Curse of Fenric", when the 7th Doctor is asked about his family, he says he doesn't know. The questioner, Ace's grandmother, suggests that like others, it is because of '...the war." She means WWII, but perhaps...Phil Stone 04:15, July 5, 2013 (UTC)

This is a long one so pay attention: At the earliest point in Gallifreyan history that anyone remembers, Gallifrey was ruled by the Pythia. Rassion, Omega, and one other overthrough the Pythia, but the last of the Pythia cursed the new Gallifreyan leaders (not Time Lords; however they probably lived about 10,000 years att most) with sterility. This caused Rassilon's wife to have a miscarriage. Rassilon, to prevent their extinction, created the looms. Omega went on a mission to give them time travel, which proved to be fatal (sort of) and created the first black hole. The other was exposed to massive amounts of artron energy, thus making him the first Time Lord. Rassilon made himself the first President of the Counil of the Gallifeyans (now Chronarchs). The Other lived eight lives during which he had a granddaughter, named Arkytior. The Other used a regeneration transfer to bring Rassilons unborn daughter back to life. He then told his grandaughter to flee Gallifrey and cast himself into the looms. The last part of the Other's name was 'lungbarrowmas' so they named one of the looms 'the House of Lungbarrow'. Many years later descendants rassilons daughter had Koshei who was taken to the Academy. Meanwhile more cousins were produced from the House of Lungbarrow. One of these cousins, Quencessetianobayolocaturgrathadadeyyilungbarrow- mas or Quences, was made the 499th kithriarch of the House of Lungbarrow. another cousin, Ulysses was part of an experimental operation to restore fertility to the now Time Lords. (They became Time Lords through prolonged eposure to the spacetime vortex, created by omega.) He later became an explorer and married a time-traveling human from the nineteenth century named Penelope Gate. They had three children: Braxtielsetianobayolocaturgrathadadeyyilungbarrowmas, future the Doctor, and a daughterThe preceding unsigned comment was added by 108.246.48.79 (talk).

108, please stop beginning your posts with "pay attention". It's a bit rude. Also, if you want people to read your posts, make just one point at a time, rather than post one long wall of text that many people will not be interested in reading. Lots of people have trouble reading or don't enjoy reading long un-paragraphed text, and if you want people to read your words, you have to meet them half-way.
Also, sign your posts with four tildes. This is a basic wiki policy. Failure to do so after repeated requests could result in a block. Shambala108 04:38, November 30, 2013 (UTC)
Sorry :( 108.238.228.50talk to me 18:05, November 30, 2013 (UTC)
108: A very long time ago, something known as the paragraph was invented. The idea was (& still is) that you break your text up into pieces (paragraphs) that each deal with one idea. As Shambala108 says, a monolithic block of text (even one that doesn't begin with an insult to the intelligence of every other user) will not be read.
You may be too new here to have experience of it but unbroken walls of text have a tendency to be posted by users who also ramble incoherently. The correlation isn't 100% but the two go together often enough to make many users (including me) take one look at such an indigestible lump & immediately think, "Not worth the effort." In effect, you are sabotaging yourself by posting like this.
As well as being a courtesy to sign your posts, it also helps others to engage with what you're saying -- the signature includes a date-time stamp that can be used by others to distinguish one of your posts from another, when someone wants to refer to one of your ideas (paragraphs help with this, too) & ease of reference promotes discussion. Again, you are sabotaging yourself by omitting the signature.
Neither of us (Shambala108 & I) is trying to "get at" you. It's just that you might as well not post at all as post something nobody bothers to read. The intention is to help you. --89.243.202.128talk to me 23:06, November 30, 2013 (UTC)

What the heck? 108.236.90.188talk to me 22:09, December 14, 2013 (UTC)
There must have been an extra space somewhere in there. I've removed it so now the text looks normal. Shambala108 16:13, December 16, 2013 (UTC)

Can I please delete the comment near the top by shambala 108 (not the one above mine) and then the ones from the users with only ip addresses that talk about the other, the pythia etc. because they just seem like rambling and for some reason are repeated several times. Just asking because last time I deleted someone's post I was told off by an admin and I don't want that again. --Coop3 18:12, January 1, 2014 (UTC)

Deleting posts is a violation of Tardis:Vandalism policy, so no, they will not be deleted. Shambala108 20:49, January 1, 2014 (UTC)

But isn't that users comments vandalism as they don't have much to do with the actual discussion, and for some reason have been repeated. I didn't realise until after I finished though that your comment shambala wasn't a part of it and was just advising the person about something so apologies for that. But come on. Most of the speech is about gallifreyan history, instead of the doctors family which this post is about --Coop3 01:02, January 2, 2014 (UTC)

Sorry, unless the comments are actual vandalism (which these are not), they will not be removed. The most you can do is make a post asking people to get back on topic. Look at it this way, people were so interested in your topic, that it led them to other areas (this happens often here on the Howling).
And I'm sorry that I had to correct a user on this page, but IP users don't have reliable talk pages, so it's hard to make contact with them. Shambala108 04:15, January 2, 2014 (UTC)
