Professor Hoffman was a scientist.

He worked at the Academia Solaris and was an expert in temporal mechanics. To get on board the Thor Orbital Facility, the real Professor was kidnapped and the Sixth Doctor impersonated him. Later, the Professor was released. (PROSE: Mission: Impractical)
