Vesuvius was the oldest surviving robot of an Alternate Rome that never fell and a historian. He helped the Doctor discover the Roman "gods" the Malevilus, and escaped the Temple of the Gods with him. He subsequently helped the Doctor start a revolution which freed Rome from the Malevilus and was rewarded by being made the new Emperor of Rome. (COMIC: Doctor Who and the Iron Legion)
