Will there be a series three of Torchwood? Matoro3311"Shout At Me""My Contribs" 16:44, 27 June 2008 (UTC)

Captain Jack's vulnerability to suffocation and trauma[[edit source]]

I think that Gray was wrong about the mechanisms of Jacks gift. When he accompanied the suicide in series 1, he was unaffected by the exhaust fumes and lack of oxygen in the garage- thus I don't think burial would hurt him, something he wisely kept quiet about at the time! He probably spent the next millennia in a state of deep meditation, possibly bordering on suspended animation (which might explain the lack of ageing).

He does suffer an awful lot of pain and trauma otherwise, and it is surprising that a former coward seems able to survive it. There are a few possible explanations-

- as a time agent, he is probably trained and tested in psychological techniques for resisting torture and dealing with the after-effects - If his people had modified their pheremones, they might have genetically engineered other useful traits, like pain resistence. Obviously he still reacts to it, but he might not feel it as deeply or react in the same way

- The gift/curse may preserve his psyche as well as his body, restoring any damage that would destroy him

U.S. edits?[[edit source]]

just watched Exit Wounds on BBCAmerica and there was no final season with Jack & John. He was released from the cells along with Ianto & Gwen and was never seen again. Has this scene been edited out for the U.S.?

Repeat airings of programs on BBC America tend to be edited down to fit into a one-hour time slot with commercials. Several episodes of Doctor Who have been given unpleasant edits for this same reason - Journey's End is missing several moments, including the scene between Wilf and the Doctor at the end, while The Impossible Astronaut doesn't have the conversation between the Doctor and Rory about his time spent guarding the Pandorica. BBC America seldom air the unedited versions these days, sadly. Ben Paddon 22:27, January 5, 2013 (UTC)

Gray's motivation[[edit source]]

It's odd that this article says nothing about Gray's motives for causing all the destruction and death. Not a word about why he hates Jack nor why he caused all the events of this episode. Puzzling --Captain Infinity 04:27, August 12, 2017 (UTC)
