Sirens were mythological creatures who lured sailors to their deaths with their songs.

Captain Henry Avery identified the creature hunting his crew as the siren of legend, saying that many ships carrying treasure had fallen to her. (TV: The Curse of the Black Spot)

On Crellium, Sarah Jane Smith recalled the sirens when she and the Fourth Doctor were following the sound of Marsalla sobbing. (PROSE: The Vampires of Crellium)

In 1968, Panda suggested to Iris Wildthyme that she tie him to a post, like Odysseus hearing the sirens call, when she needed him to guide her to the spirits which proved to have a strong effect on him. (PROSE: Iris Wildthyme y Señor Cientocinco contra Los Monstruos del Fiesta)
