We've got a couple of important quirks for a Wikia wiki, so let's get them out of the way first.
British English, please
We generally use British English round these parts, so if you're American, please be sure you set your spell checker to BrEng, and take a gander at our spelling cheat card.
Spoilers aren't cool
We have a strict definition of "spoiler" that you may find a bit unusual. Basically, a spoiler, to us, is anything that comes from a story which has not been released yet. So, even if you've got some info from a BBC press release or official trailer, it basically can't be referenced here. In other words, you gotta wait until the episode has finished its premiere broadcast to start editing about its contents. Please check the spoiler policy for more details.

Plagiarism[[edit source]]
Hi, I'm sad to contact you with a reprimand rather than a welcome. However, plagiarism is a serious offence. Under certain circumstances, it may be a crime. Less dramatically, it certainly gets students expelled from universities. Per our plagiarism policy, Tardis:Plagiarism, it can also easily result in an editor being banned from the wiki. Starting your editing from plagiarising is a wrong move. The only reason you are not yet blocked is because you have copied material from CC-BY-SA-compliant sites. Thus, it is, in principle possible you were not intending to do anything wrong. I am here to explain to you that you did nevertheless. Firstly, the wiki is not interested in importing free-to-share plots from other sites. It is better not to have a plot than to feature a plot not controlled for accuracy, with no links to other pages on this wiki and otherwise improperly formatted. Plots should be written by editors who saw/read/listened to the story in question, preferably recently. Thus, you should abandon the idea of contributing to the wiki in the way you started with. But, in addition, you still violated the CC-BY-SA terms. You actions were not benign and still constituted plagiarism in the proper sense of the word. The Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported License [1] requires you to give appropriate credit. In other words, you should have indicated that the plots were not written by you but rather were copied and given the link to the place it was copied from. Pretending to be an author of a text written by someone else is plagiarism.
And plagiarism is not tolerated on this wiki. Any further attempts at copying material verbatim from other sites, even if free to share and properly attributed, will lead to an immediate block. Thank you for your attention. Amorkuz ☎ 09:59, November 9, 2017 (UTC)
