Kanta was an ensign under Major Priskin's command in 1980. He didn't know that Priskin had become a vampire. He became paranoid when he heard reports of attacks in the city of Budapest. Priskin told him to ignore them. He helped the Fourth Doctor and Romana II through the labyrinth under Buda Castle. (AUDIO: The Labyrinth of Buda Castle)
