The Isolus are tiny empathic beings who look like white flowers with streaming tendrils.

The Isolus are originally born as spores by their mother. These Isolus travel in space in heat-powered pods and will grow for thousands of years until they reach their adult stage. In order to pass the time, the Isolus can use their Ionic power to project fantasy worlds to play in. The ionic power of an Isolus to create these virtual worlds can bring inanimate objects like drawings to life, as well as transform living things into drawings as well. These young Isolus also require strong emotions, specifically love, to survive. Isolus travel in groups of around 4 billion and require constant companionship to feed off their sibling's love.

During the year 2012, one Isolus was separated from its siblings after a solar flare. It landed on Earth, searching out heat and a friend. It was able to find Chloe Webber, another lonely child. The Isolus was able to merge with Chloe, giving her control over the Isolus' Ionic powers. Unfortunately, one child was not enough for the Isolus and it tried to use its powers to find more friends.
