Odessa Smith was the mother of Mickey Smith. (PROSE: Rose)
According to Rose, Odessa "couldn't cope". His father Jackson Smith stayed around for a while but "just sort of wandered off", meaning Mickey was raised by his grandmother, Rita-Anne Smith. (TV: Rise of the Cybermen)
