Tendril

A tendril was a part of an animal or plant. It resembled a small tentacle.

The Animus that the First Doctor met beneath Victorian London was able to regrow to its former self from a single tendril. (COMIC: Unnatural Selection)

Kyropites were parasitic plants native to YT45. They emitted a soporific gas that put nearby fauna in a dreamlike state. The kyropites would then feed telepathically on the alpha waves produced.
