Malorie Blackman co-wrote the Doctor Who television story Rosa, with Chris Chibnall. She is the first non-white writer to contribute a script to televised Doctor Who.

Blackman previously wrote the Puffin eshort The Ripple Effect, a Seventh Doctor short story to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of Doctor Who. She is the 2013-2015 Children's Laureate and the first non-white writer for the series of eleven Puffin eshorts.
