the history may need splitting into a separate article. the previous history contained a fair bit of simplifying and borderline fanon like saying that "Revenge of the Cybermen" happend in the 31st century when we don't know for sure that it did. (basically, a statement by the Doctor in "The Ark in Space" implied this, but a later story, "Earthshock". contradicted this.)
