Andrew Stone was a member of Bowie Base One, he was the first of the colony to become affected by the Flood,

most likely through consuming a carrot grown utilising the base's contaminated Martian water supply. He infected Maggie Cain and Tarak Ital. When the Doctor and Adelaide Brooke were reviewing the maintenance log reports, they discovered an entry from Andy which stated that the water filter had been wreaked, and that the replacements wouldn't fit, allowing the infection to spread through the base's water supply.
