Imaginary Friends

Imaginary Friends was a comic book series written by Jim Sheldrake which borrowed characters from great literature and obscure penny dreadfuls and tied them together into a single continuity. It was Sheldrake's first creator-owned book, published by AmeriComics. The first volume was released in 1999.

A movie based on Imaginary Friends was released in 2003.

Between the the release of the first and second volumes of Imaginary Friends: The Hundred Year War, Sheldrake was imprisoned at Camp Gulliver. Imaginary Friends: The Hundred Year War: 1969 was written on his bedsheets and smuggled out of Gulliver; it featured Malachi Yarrow, X-12, and a brief appearance by Story. The third and final volume of The Hundred Year War was smuggled out of Gulliver through Story; it was set in 2009 and featured a parody of Finn Foster as the antichrist.
