In 1006, the Eighth Doctor and Tamsin Drew encountered the Monk at the Abbey of Kells in Meath, Ireland. The Monk had arrived there by chance, but when he realised where and when he was, he saw an opportunity to finally replace the directional unit of his TARDIS. (AUDIO: The Book of Kells)
