User talk:Will101
Thanks for your recent edits! I'm Jimbo, your robot wiki representative! We hope you'll keep on editing with us. This is actually a great time to have joined, because we're now fully independent, and working on a host of new features!
We've got a couple of important quirks for a fan written wiki, so let's get them out of the way first.
British English, please
We generally use British English 'round these parts, so if you use another form of English, please be sure you set your spell checker to BrEng, and take a gander at our spelling cheat card.
Spoilers aren't cool
We have a strict definition of "spoiler" that you may find a bit unusual. Basically, a spoiler, to us, is anything that comes from a story which has not been released yet. So, even if you've got some info from a BBC press release or official trailer, it basically can't be referenced here. In other words, you gotta wait until the episode has finished its premiere broadcast to start editing about its contents. Please check the spoiler policy for more details.
Other useful stuff
Aside from those two things, we also have some pages that you should probably read when you get a chance, like:
- the listing of all our help, policy and guideline pages
- our Manual of Style
- our image use policy
- our user page policy
If you're brand new to wiki editing — and we all were, once! — you probably want to check out these tutorials at Wikipedia, the world's largest wiki:
Remember that you should always sign your comments on talk and vote pages using four tildes like this:Thanks for becoming a member of the TARDIS crew! If you have any questions, see the Help pages, add a question to one of the Forums or ask an admin.
Editing articles
Hello. Just in response to the message left on Doug86's talk page. Different editors edit in different ways and often when you are reading through an article you see things at different points and it's often easier to edit in different sections rather than editing in one large slab. Additionally it's the very nature of a wiki that there will be frequent page edits (especially on an article such as Dalek).
Also just on a side note, the large gaps of space around the infoboxes on articles? It really makes the pages look odd when there are large gaps of space around the top of the article. Thanks. --Tangerineduel 13:03, 3 August 2009 (UTC)
Infobox Gaps
Thanks for replying, I thought any replies would be offensive or annoyed that I asked a question. Responding to your side note, I haven't been adding large spaces/gaps to articles. I don't know why it happens, I usually undo edits of unnamed people, like on the companion page where I removed Sarah Jane Smith and K-9 Mark III. I'm not sure why it's adding gaps, cos I agree that it would look a bit strange... :S Will101 16:48, 3 August 2009 (UTC)
Problem Reports
Hi. Problem reports are very sporadically checked on this wiki. It's better to chuck one of these Tardis:Templates#Cleanup_Tags (there's a whole list there), for things like Out of universe content ({{Oou}}) or for pages that are really far gone there is the {{Gone to Pot}} tag or for a page that needs a cleanup there is {{cleanup}}. Also it's better to reply to messages on the user's talk page (as I, nor other users keep an eye on every person's talk pages they leave messages on). Thanks. --Tangerineduel 15:35, 5 August 2009 (UTC)

re: your recent edits to 11th doctor talk page
can you please explain why both your most recent edits seem to have been reversions of edits on talk pages, from someone (i.e me) who is merely trying to get his views across without trying to compromise any views other people might have regards, --86.15.88.163 16:43, December 13, 2009 (UTC)
As you don't have an account, I'll have to reply here. The reason I removed your edits is because there is no need for speculation. For one, we have already been told that the Eleventh Doctor is the Eleventh incarnation, and not a younger First Doctor, and secondly, there is a specific place for any speculation, found here at The Howling. Regards, -- Will101 16:49, December 13, 2009 (UTC)
nothing says that Matt smith is playing the 11th incarnation, chronologically he is, but there are plenty of explanations for him being a previous version of William Hartnells doc, maybe even predating william hartnels doctor, its never been oficially said that william hartnell is the first incarnation of the doctor, and the new costume, logo and TARDIS seems to suggest a more old style doctor...--86.15.88.163 17:12, December 13, 2009 (UTC)
Matt Smith has specifically said that he is playing the Eleventh Doctor, and the page on TARDIS Wiki is called the Eleventh Doctor, not Younger First Doctor or Previous Incarnation to William Hartnell's Doctor. -- Will101 17:14, December 13, 2009 (UTC)
firstly, all i have said is speculation, the page is entitled 11th doctor, because he is the 11th known incarnation of the doctor, the reason it doesn't say 'Younger 1st doctor' or anything similar is because it would seem at this point that matt smith is playing the 11th doctor. If you can find any reliable media clipping that involves matt smith saying he is the 11th doctor, then i will gladly leave you alone, but i am not aware of many, good luck--86.15.88.163 17:28, December 13, 2009 (UTC)
I don't know if you've seen any filming pictures, but there have been some with Matt Smith wearing David Tennant's brown suit, and carrying his Sonic Screwdriver. I don't think the younger First Doctor would have that. Also, go to the BBC Doctor Who Site, and they will continually call him the Eleventh Doctor. And as I said before, The Howling is the place to go for speculation. -- Will101 17:32, December 13, 2009 (UTC)
