The Commercial Enterprise Network for Trade, Regeneration and Excellence, known as the Centre, was set up after the collapse of the United Kingdom. It offered shopping, entertainment and employment for its citizens. It celebrated Christmas every week. It was run by a power plant that took up most of Scotland. Employees worked twenty-four hours a day, thanks to stimulants.
The Seventh Doctor visited the Centre and spoke with a shop assistant. When security brought him and the assistant to the boss, Mr Sachrin, the Doctor lectured Mr Sachrin on the flaws in the system. The Doctor's friends sabotaged the power plant, putting an end to the Centre. (PROSE: Christmas Every Day?)
