Theory:Doctor Who audio discontinuity and plot holes/Relative Dimensions

From Tardis Wiki, the free Doctor Who reference
You are exploring the Discontinuity Index, a place where any details or rumours about unreleased stories are forbidden.
Please discuss only those whole stories which have already been released, and obey our spoiler policy.

This page is for discussing the ways in which Relative Dimensions doesn't fit well with other DWU narratives. You can also talk about the plot holes that render its own, internal narrative confusing.

Remember, this is a forum, so civil discussion is encouraged. However, please do not sign your posts. Also, keep all posts about the same continuity error under the same bullet point. You can add a new point by typing:

* This is point one.

... and so on.
  • The Doctor says that he took Leonardo to see the birth of Jesus "in the Year 0". However, there is no 'Year 0'. The Year 1 BC is followed by the Year 1 AD.
Maybe he isn't being literal. He might simply be explaining it in the simplest possible terms.
But 'the simplest possible terms' would be saying "the Year 1". And when we take into account that this is the Doctor, it just makes it all the more absurd.
While it's certainly not the intended situation, "the Year 0" could be a location rather than a date, and Jesus' birth a holographic simulation rather than the genuine article. Alternatively, the Whoniverse dating is somewhat different from our own?
The "Whoniverse dating"? The BC/AD calendar goes directly from 1 BC to 1 AD. Anyone who has ant udnerstanding of that should know. It's a major goof talking about "Year 0", as no such Year can exist.
No such year can exist in the real-world calendar system, but there's no firm reason to assume the Doctor Who universe's calendar was established with the same ground rules. It's not like it's logically impossible to propose that whoever invented this method of dating in the Doctor Who universe decided that the year prior to Jesus's birth was Year 0.
Leaving aside the relative brevity of Katarina's stay in the TARDIS, as well as the fact that certain materials can't even agree that John and Gillian existed, it is possible that some of the rooms were simply reused. Additionally, given that rooms have been jettisoned from the TARDIS before, perhaps Oliver and Sara Kingdom's were among the casualties.
Yeah, I don't really see the problem. The TARDIS is of practically infinite, and ever-shifting, size. There's no reason to assume Susan could possibly have seen everything there is to see. (And is there any story to establish John and Gillian had rooms in the TARDIS? I mean, it would make sense, but I can't recall offhand. And after all, if they are Time Lords, they may not sleep very much at all, just like the Doctor.)
